Default Starter does not stop again after engaging

Hello,

I´m a German Split Window owner and I have a problem with my Split Window since a few days.

When I try to start the engine, the starter turns but the engines does not start. It seems that the engine gets no ignition.
Worse than that is the fact, that the starter does not stop turning the engine, after turning back the ignition key to the position "Off". Even removing the iginition key from the lock does not disengage the starter, which can be stopped only by disconnecting one of the wires of the battery.

If I then connect that wire again to the battery, the starter is quite and the whole play begins again after trying to start the engine with the key by turning it to the position "Start".

Does anyone here know this kind of trouble ? In the German Corvette forum nobody ever had this kind of problem.

Now I hope that I can get help from this forum, due to the fact that much more midyear Corvettes are present here.

Many thanks.

Hopeful greetings from Germany

Walter
