VIN Number Search
Hello All,
My father and I are trying to track down his previously owned 63 Vette that he sold in ~ 1984.
The car was sold to a gentleman in Youngstown, OH.
My dad found an insurance statement from 1978 with the VIN before Christmas while cleaning.
I stopped at the Title Agency a week later with the VIN.(30867S10600x)
I learned the following:
1) I was told the car is most likely, not currently titled in the state of Ohio.
2) If the "old yellow title" is current for the car, it will not be in the computer system.
3) I have tried searchingwww.carfax.com and http://www.dmv.org/vehicle-history.php .
No luck with either website. The DMV website says 17 characters are required.
The 63 Vette VIN is 12 characters. I tried adding 5 zeros to the VIN = No Luck.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The Vette is Riverside Red convertible, 327ci/340hp/4 speed with hard top + white soft top/BLK interior.
Thanks, Ron
