Default 1978 with 73 L82 camshaft..

I recention purchased a '78 that i'm looking to beef up a abit... mods and restores can be found in my signature below.

The question that i had was whether or not it'd be worth it to replace the camshaft with something else since the car doesnt seem to have as much power as it should. However, the rebuild isn't quite broken in yet so she might be hiding something.. i haven't really pushed her yet. But what else could be done? I'd like to keep some fuel economy... but it isn't important.. any ideas or suggestions?

I'm guessing you have an HEI ignition. Check into a hotter aftermarket system with more control. Mallory has a great distributor-coil- controller that will fit under the back or the air cleaner. If you want to keep the original, check with Jacobs Electronics... they have a great controller that works with the stock HEI. If you still have the stock air cleaner system... loose it and get a K&N with the flow through top. You will get twice as much air into the engine. Also check into Flowmaster mufflers. Don't be tempted to use 3" pipes, sometimes bigger can rob you of power... unless your always on the gas. What the hell... its back down to under $3/gal...have fun.
