Default 69 for sale...need some feedback

I found a 69 t-top 350 4 spd, matching num, for sale..$11,000 or obo. It's in bad shape I mean BAD, the car has been sitting for yearsunder a tree. The funny thing is the front end has a 1980 front bumper. I haven't talk to the owner yet but that's odd in my opinion. Is this vette worth 11k..or would my offer of 4k be an insult. Thanks for your info..

He's expecting WAY too much!
Numbers matching? I wouldn't be so sure, with it having an '80 front clip! What else was changed?[sm=smiley21.gif]
If he won't take 4 g's, keep lookin'!
If you're lookin' for a Vette, "The One", is out there! Enjoy your search, have fun, and most of all, enjoy your new Vette!!! [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Make an offer of $4,000.00 and see what he says. I paid $11,000.00 for my roadstrer last year. It was in driving condition. The body was straight, no frame rust and most of the car was there. In retrospect, after everything that I have done to the car so far and I am not finished yet, I should only have paid around $9,000.00. I have put another $11,000.00 in parts in the car. I am estimating that the total investment will be in the area of $25,000.00 when I am finished. The market value of an L46 4 speed roadster is between $28,000 and $35,000. The cost of the project does not include any labor because I do everything myself. If you have to farm anything out, the cost will jump up.

The right answer is probably between 11k and 4k. If he is asking that high for a rough looking car, you are fine offering low and pointing out the issues. If I want to sell a car, step one is move it out from under the tree and at least wash it. Step two is make sure it rolls and runs. Step three is to make it pass a safety inspection. Step four is to do all the little projects that we enjoy so much.

If he isn't willing to do step one, then he will likely be looking at lowball offers alot.

I always laugh at the ones who just do step one and then want top dollar. If you put lipstick on a pig, you are still kissing a pig. [:'(]

1969 L46 has a very good point!
I paid 5 g'sfor my vette, it ran, and pretty well. Prob was, the suspension was shot, elec, paint, and interior were real sad. [&o]
I dropped 4 g's in the suspension and drive train. Soon, I'll be installing a fresh 454 that's kickin' about 400 horse.
Because I'm into tradin' and barterin', I managed to get the 454 for about a $230 investment. So.....for a $9,230.00 investment, (oh ya, about another $1,200 in tires and wheels), I still need paint, minor body repairs, straighten out some wiring, and the interior redone.
Other than that, she's "Cherry"!
I guess what I'm gettin' at is, be prepared to drop a lotta bucks in the '68 T-top.
Not a thing wrong with the Vette, some lovin' won't take care of, just not 11 g's before you start work! [:'(]
Offer 4.......take the other 7 g's, and.....well........what would ya do to your Vette, if ya had an extra 7 g's layin' around? Hmmmmm?

I agree with bill too! [sm=icon_rock.gif]
Who wants an 11thousand dollarpig, ya can't eat!

Good luck on the purchase.Like the guys said it sounds like the guy is dreaming looking for $11,000. You have the right idea taking the cash with you .Letting him know you will give him the $4000 cash right there is very perrsuaisive.
