Default 71 vette interior re-do

Hey you C3 guys I need some help here. I Have a 71 that I'm changing the interior color from green to black. So far I've taken everything out, dyed all the panels , new door panels, installed new carpet and will re-do the seats with new foam and covers.I've installed everything behind the seats without much of a problem. The dash and center console area seems to be a different story. There must be a good installation sequence were you don't have to worry about taking parts out because you can't get to fasteners for other panels. Some of you guys that have done this might know what I'm talking about.I'd appreciate the info. Thanx , Mike from motown.

Hi Gypsyman46, not sure if I understand your question. If you removed the rear console than you found the hidden bolt in the storage compartment.
If you removed the top dash then you found the one screw that holds it from underneath.
If the carpet is in than you install the kick panel and then the door sills.
Is that what your asking? PG.

Ya pg, what I asked is kind of hard to decipher. I'm new at this so it might take a little practice to to make my questions a little clearer. What I ment by not being able to get to some fasteners is I installed the top dash pad before putting the front dash pads in .So by doing thisI couldn't get to the screws that secure the speedo and the tach to the front dash pad . So I had to take the top dash pad back out to get to these fastener points. So its like puttin the cart before the horse. I still have stuff like the shift console housing, Parking brake housing, instrument console guage cluster, etc.to put back in. So I was hoping that any of you guys that have done this interior installation could give me a few tips on a good sequence to keep me from screwin up again. Thanx, Gypsyman46

Default temp. guage not working

Just want to let everyone know that my interior re-do is re-done. Everything fit good and it looks great. The old temp. guage wasn't working so I installed a new one that isn't showing any sign of life either. Got the to figure it out. Any ideas?

Hi again, glad you got the interior back together, it takes patients and a little luck to get all the screws to line up again.
About the temp guage, is the wire to the sending unit attached? It's near the left front spark plug. PG.

If the wire is attached, remove it and check the resistance of the terminal to a good ground. It shouldn't be open or shorted.
