ANTIQUE PLATES
#3
RE: ANTIQUE PLATES
In Missouri it is 25 years old and older. We have an option of using a dated plate and having it assigned to the car. If you find a plate issued the same year as your car was manufactured (antique cars only), you supply a picture of the plate and the application for historic plates and if the number isn't already in use, it's yours. The advantage to historic plates is that they are good forever (no more registration fees). The down side is you have to maintain a log and unless you are traveling to or from a show or parade or a maintenace facility, you are limited to 1,000 personal miles per year. The wife's69 Camaro has had historic plates on it since2001 and we have never been asked to produce the log for inspection.

RE: ANTIQUE PLATES
In Oklahoma, it's 25 years, but you can't get them at the Tax and Licencing office. You have to go to the courthouse and register for them. I think it's $10 cheaper per year, but being an antique, I'm paying $10 less then regular folks as it is at the Tax / Licence office.
