Default Assembling a horn kit on my '79

Hello, I am a newby here. I bought my first Vette about 6 months ago and I'm loving it. It's a '79 L-82. I am in the middle of replacing the interior and changing it's colors. I am having trouble getting the factory horn put back together. It was already apart when I bought the car. Does anyone have a pic or exploded view that shows how the various plates go together? My insurance company will not give me coverage until I get the horn working properly. This means I can't even drive it!!

I would really appreciate your help!

Wecome to CF.
Get yourself a shop manual and a factory assembly manual, they'll be a big help. You can get them from www.ecklers.com or www.mamotorworks.com .

I took a shot at getting a Haynes manual but it wasn't much help. I have been ordering from Eckler's quite a bit so I will get one of their manuals. Thanks for the pointer!

Just in case you're interested, look at the 1963-82 Max Performance Suspension Package from Ecklers.
I put this on the "Starship" and WOW, like the car is painted on the road.

Hi Rwebb001, welcome to the forum, there is an exploded view in the ecklers catalog. You can buy the 79 assembly manual for a better view or just ask them to send you that page from the manual. I get a lot of my parts at www.riksvet.com I find the a few dollars cheeper. Hope this helps, enjoy your ride!

Due the age of my car, I can see that I need to pay some attention to the suspension. May end up being on my Christmas wish list this year!

I found the exploded view and it is what I was needing, thanks for the tip! I'll check out Riksvet for parts. While raising three children, money is always a factor. Thanks.

Take your time and plan out everything you want to do to your Vet.
A little research will go a long way and save you money and headaches.
