Do you have vacuum secondaries? If so are they adjusted properly? I they open too soon that will do it. PG.

Good call PG, I'd forgot about a lean backfire condition. That's an easy check, too. Sounds like the worst thing it could be is a stuck valve and something like Z-Max might fix that.

pg said exactly what I thought of when I first read this post. A lack of fuel will give you a backfire just like a stuck intake valve, which will put a skip in your heart beat. LOL
