Well today the radiator went in. Water pump is now correctly installed, waiting for next week to go get a fan shroud. In the meantime I'll be ordering hoses and belts. Currently looking through my stash of carbs and thinking I'll try an Edelbrock.

The water pump looked good before. What was wrong?

The bolt heads holding the plate on the back were hitting the timing cover. I ground them down a little. And I had to Heli coil the upper left bolt.

More fun today! Oil went in, primed the system, installed the dizzy. So close I can almost hear it.

Man, it seems like this is taking forever! My buddy Jerry is out of town at least another week, and he has my fan shroud. ( Plus a few other trinkets). But we are making progress!

Well, I went out to the shop tonight and brothers, we made some noise! It's amazing how much stuff still works in the car. It was only a short run,as I am still waiting on coolant hoses and fan shroud and belts to show up. But DAMN! that felt good. Now half of my shop is covered in rust...

How long is it safe to run an engine w/o coolant?
