I was back at it for a while today, finally got the motor mount bolts in, new starter on. Most of the under car work is done!

Looking good, nothing like a BB rumbling down an old country road. The old barn finds are still out there, I have not seen any lately. I will keep looking even though I don't have room for another car.

Lots of C-3 parts looks as if he could build a few cars from the parts.

Today I got the hood on and adjusted. I think it's looking pretty good!

Have you had time to check the air cleaner to hood clearance yet?

Wished I had enough ceiling clearance for a two (or four) post lift like yours. Probably have to settle for a Quick Jack type.

No not yet, I'm not even sure what carb is going on. I do have an air cleaner designed for limited clearance. Once more parts come in I can finish the front of the motor. I'm kinda waiting until the rest is done because I can source another manifold if I need to.

The intake manifold looks fairly tall. I used a stock cast intake on the 77 with a Qjet and stock 77 air cleaner, and ended up with about an inch clearance. Which is ok a good intake would give it more top end but it's not a racer and I didn't really want to buy a hood, That kinda takes the B out of budget. BB's do fill the hole.

I remember seeing an air cleaner base plate that had a drop down of about an 1.5" to 2" . It look like somebody had just taken a regular base plate and squished it down over the carburetor. The problem with that would be that the bottom of the air cleaner lid would be very close to the carburetor intakes.

Well, the core support is not just sitting there anymore. That thing is bolted in! Seriously, that was worse than doing the hood. I also got the column replaced in my burgundy '73. It now has a tilt/tela out of a '76. So much easier to get in and out of!
