Default Dash lights went out

Hiya, was driving home and the dash lights went out when I turned on the radio. It's dark out so I have not fiddled with anything yet, but I'm wondering what it could be.

They didn't flicker at all they simply went out when I turned on the radio.

Plans tomorrow are to check the fuses and ground (Do I need to remove the dash housing for the ground?), but other than that I'm not really sure what to check.

As always any help is appreciated.

I would say your radio has a short.
The problem started when you turned it on.
If your dash light and radio are on the same fuse that's it then, bad radio wiring.
Sometimes you can have a wire uder your radio that has been rubbing for years and finally wore off the plastic coating.
Good luck,
Schoon

Got lucky. =) Was just a blown fuse. Checked all the wiring just to make sure anyways and everything seems good.

Good point, what made the fuse blow in the first place.

Last year I had a fuse circuit blow time after time.
Turned out to be a door light switch.
