Well, couldn't find anyone who had a heated garage, and you can't use spray paint wents its 48* so... I made an "oven" out of some boxes I got from work. Actually, my friend Steve did all the work... Then we put a hole in the bottom, and put an electric radiator heater below it. Worked like a charm, he left it on all night by accident and the heads were hot enough that you couldn't pick them up with bare hands. Paint dried to the touch in less than 10 minutes, and we still had to wear jackets. Notice how I just sprayed the parts of the engine that people will see Didn't really feel like spendin' 4 days scrappin' the bottom part of the block when only the most discriminating Corvette guys will notice.

I got a Torker II intake I gotta paint today, which I normally wouldn't paint aluminum, but its been sandblasted and it will just soak in the dirt if I don't.

And... a wire wheel works wonders on rusty timing covers!

Hey Clayton, are you lookin' to get rid of your L-82 valve covers when you swap heads? If so let me know.

No way man, they are the most awesomest! No chinese made chrome junk could ever top finned! Biggest reason I didn't go roller or Vortec heads is because I wanted to keep the mag covers, sad isn't it, I'm such a vain person...

You could clear coat your intake and maintain the munimula look. Or get it polished and then clear coat.

I had a local guy polish my valve covers and almost look chromed.

My friend Ty clear coated his Edelbrock heads and they are stayin' clean, he just wipes them off.

Heck no!, I don't blame ya', I'm not a big fan of chrome anyway. I'll either go painted steel or some form of aluminum. Thanks for the response. Bob

A true hillbilly would just use blue duct tape....

Nice work, I bet that will look great once it's on the vette.
