How can I identify what options besides the visual and obvious came with my vette? It is a 1977, Vin has an "L" which was the 190h.p. 350. I know the color and trim codes, did not see a sticker on gas tank, I would like to order a repo window sticker, but I am not sure how to find all options, except like the obvious, such as A/C, defrost, luggage rack, etc.. Little help here.

 

Buy a 1977 dealer brochure that lists all of the options. Another option is to buy a copy of the Corvette Black Book. It lists everything for every year.

 

The book "How to restore and modify your corvette 1968-82" also has the options listed for each year.

 

I am able to find the all the options that came with the year. What I mean is, is there any place on the vehicle that would tell me what options are on this particular vette? I looked for the tank sticker, unless it is someplace that I cant see it, it is not there. How do you tell the suspension?, what gear ratio? I just puchased this beauty, it has a 340, 40 bored over, hayes performace transmission(4spd), and about 350h.p., I hope to post some pics later.

 

Without the tank sticker or prior owner info, you're pretty much stuck with just looking for evidence of various options, some of which may have been removed but left traces like mounting features or holes. Like the gymkhana suspension had a rear sway bar and bigger front bar.

As far as the rear end ratio goes, you can turn a rear wheel one revolution and count the drive shaft revolutions. If you get about 3 1/2, then you have a 3:55 ratio.
