Default Intake manifold height LS-4 vs. ZZ454 crate engine

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, just purchased my first C3, a bright yellow 74 coupe with numbers matching 454/auto, from Autoexotica in St. Louis, maybe some of you saw the car on eBay recently, it was there. Anyway, I am considering pulling out the original engine and setting it aside and dropping in a ZZ454 crate motor. I would like to keep the factory air cleaner and cowl induction setup but am wondering if the dual plane intake in the ZZ454 will be taller than my LS-4 intake causing clearance problems witht he hood. Thanks for any advice.

Paul,
Go to your local speed shop and take a measurement of the intake you plan to use, then compare
the measurement with the intake on your car. Lay a flat bar across the intakes and measure to the carb base. This should give you some idea. Sometimes the speed shop can give you the dimentions.
