Lazy Eye - '82

Default Lazy Eye - '82

Having difficulty with one of my headlights....it doesnt want to open...suggestions?

Here's a link with some great troubleshooting information. Look on the left for Vacuum Troubleshooting. The article is very methodical and pretty easy to follow.

That's the link, DeeVee, and the problem is the sealing gromet on the actuator. Very cheap and easyto repair.

are both supposed to open simultaneously? both mine open but one is slower than the other, at least that's what the wife said.

On mine the left side is faster that the right. PG.

Due to the differences in all of the springs involved and friction variations side-to-side, it's not surprising that they don't open together. I've never seen any that do. Even my 68 GTO didn't.

From messing with mine, I think they should both open together. The only time mine haven't is when the gromets weren't sealing completely. The vacuum runs to them equally and they should open at the same time. The difference in the spring tension shouldn't make that much difference.
