Would like to know the best repair guide and/or restoration guide book etc. out there. My 74 conv. in very good shape just a few issues here and there but if i tear into one issue and see something else I tend to get very involved and would like to know the definitive manuals to buy BEFORE i get into something over my head. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi dtrospi2007, and welcome to the forum and the world of Corvettes. You can start with the Haynes Repair manual, the 74 Service manual the 1966-1982 Shop Manual and the A.I.M. (assembly manual ).
A good book is How to restore and modify your Corvette by Richard Newton. PG.

Here's original service manual: http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.a...307TH1CMQW6SL2

Haven't seen it but have heard that Richard Prince's 68-82 Restoration Guide is very good. Good luck.

direct from chevy, Helm Manual, Crown Publishing also publishes OEM manuals. I have found it is best to have more than one source(manual).

I already have the haynes, and the factory assembly manual. Both are good for general repair and seeinghow stuff you took off 3 months ago goes back on.The two I ordered aremore of a restoration guide. IE....how to properly repair areas, the trouble spots to look for, and the modern tools, parts, and tecniques used to bring the older vette's back to life.

Books are a big part of it, you'll learn a lot about the history and how to fix the things that brake on these cars that we love so much. PG.
