Need soem advise
Hey guys, I going to buy my first corvette and the c3 has always been my fav body type. What should I be looking for problem areas in these cars. Right now I'm really looking hard at a 74 stingray which had the ls4 orig, but now has a 350. If I could get any thoughts I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to CF!
I love the C3's too. As with any car, check undercarrage for any damage. If ya can get the car on a rack, check for any looseness in the suspension, steering, any leakage from engine, tranny or rear end, andwheel bearings for looseness. Some Vettes have electrical issues, and probs with the headlights going up and down. Most everything else is just cosmetics.
Good luck in your search.
ps
One other thing, look real close at the center suport for the differential. Look for any signs of movement here. There shouldn't be any.

Any car with this many years should be checked on a rack. You just can't see things very well on the ground. Tap the frame in the areas between the wheels for integrity. Also all '74 cars had the infamous seatbelt interlock which has probably been bypassed by now. It was a real PITA. Good luck.
