Default No dash lights

Ok heres the deal I think Bubba has gotten to me. I have no dash lights!!!! I have pulled the the dash open and replaced all the light bulbs (they looked like they were from 1974). The wireing seems to look good but the only lights that work are the fasten seat belt light and the door ajar lights. Anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be? Could it possible be the head light switch???
thanx

Looks like I may be in the same boat, Turned on my lights the other day, and the dash lights did not come on. After turning the dimmer they started working. They would come and go if I touched the switch. Looks like I have a weekend project....Dang,the Christmas lights will just have to wait.
Any advise on pulling this out.
Thanks in advance.

The headlight switch controls the dash lights and the dimmer function of the switch gets old and dirty. First try operating the headlights on/off and the dimmer function multiple times to break through any old crud in the switch. Also try wiggling the shaft of the switch (GENTLY). Check the connector at the back of the switch, make sure that all ground wires and fusesare good. If all else fails try replacing the headlight switch.
