I am trying to find the OE paint schemes for my 68 vette that I am restoring I need to find the frame and suspension colors if anyone could help my I would be greatful.

 

The basic name for the black on the suspension is chassis black. It is a semi gloss paint. If you are using rattle bomb, the color that is almost dead on to original is Rustoleum Black 7777. If you are looking for aconcours resto, there are a number of parts that were bare metal. Those parts can be painted with a low gloss clear to prevent rust.

 

Is there anyway to find out just which parts were paint which were not and what the colors were on things like the backing plate for the rotors and the lower arms ect.

 

You might try getting a copy of the NCRS judging manual for your '68. I understand that it has everything about everything in it.

 

Do you know where I could get my hands on the NCRS guide I have tried to find it on the net and have had no luck I appreciate all the advise.
