Question Passenger side power window stopped operating - 79'

Hi,

I'm not sure if it's coincidence but here it goes. I removed the driver side door panel on my 79' to grease the door lock moving parts. I put the door back together and left it at that. The next day I went for a drive and the driver side goes up/down as usual (very fast I might add) but the passenger side does neither. Before removing the driver side door panel, both windows went up/down with ease and very fast.
Coincidence or did I disconnect something I wasn't suppose to?

Thanks in advance,

Welcome to the forum.

I suspect coincidence unless you were doing something on the passenger side of the car. You just need to check to see if the motor is getting power and go from there.

Hi,
How do I test the motor? I have a volt meter just need to know what to test. Thanks

Assuming that you verified that you have 12 volts to the motor from the wiring harness, then most likely the motor is bad or locked up. If it will still turn then it's most likely bad. If it won't turn, then you might try lubricating it to free it up.

Apologies in advance. Test the motor on the passenger side for 12v ...wire colors? Thanks

If you can read this schematic, you can see that there are several places where the voltage could be lost.. 30 amp circuit breaker, the relay, and a possible broken wire in between somewhere. This is in addition to the motor itself being bad.
