I have checked into the same items for repair/replacement on my 74and that figure doesn't sound out of the ballpark at least in my neck of the woods.

In great shape, I'd guess-timate around 12-15k for a 77. Bouncing tach and speedo could be a bad circuit board (figure about $100), likely a bad ground connection back there somewhere. The tach could be a bad cable or connector as well, still pretty cheap to repair. So if you subtract about $2200 or so from the "good shape" price, you get about 10-13k. Maybe knock some down for paint, mileage, and interior wear if the buyer is that picky.

Generally, when I look at a C3 (non convertible) from after tthe metal bumper age... I start at $15k or so and then start subtracting the work necessary to get it up to "very good" driver status. Mostly I'll look at parts only, unless it is something major that I know I would ship out to have done. Bottom line is what is the value to the buyer. If he wants a turnkey driver, he'll be in for about $12k or so. If he wants a show-off car for the local cruise-ins, he will likely be in the 15-16k range. If he wants an NCRS show car, double the prices.

Oh yeah, mine is off in body and paint now. Got the final estimate from the shop. Still need some rear end work before Carlisle (figure about $500 or so). This brings my total up to $13k. That includes all new bushings, straight frame, new front suspension, new front to back AC and heat, new dash, guage bezels and lenses, correct am/fm/8track, new tach, new carb, minor nits and picks under the hood, new strikers, signal lenses and emblems, stinger hood, plexi one piece top. So for about $13k, I have just about the Vette that I wanted when I started. Hopefully next year, I'll be up to about $20k with a fresh RQ9 and 4L60 under the hood, and get another 200k+ miles out of it.

What i usually do is check the local ads (computer, autotrader, newspaper, etc) and see what there going for in your area then price yours accordingly. also if the car isan alloriginal 'matching numbers' car it will be more valuable. sounds like a nice car. good luck with the sale.

Like bill said, what's it worth to the buyer?
It, more than likely, is a numbers matching car.
Advertise as such.
You'll draw bigger money from serious Vette Lovers.
I wouldn't go below 9gs, but I might start at around......14, 14.8, depending on over all condition, 17 or 18.
If ya could post some pics, we could get a better idea of what ya got.

C3's with out the metal bumpers really didn't take off in price yet. I would say in a year or two a 74 to 77shoud be somewhere between 15-25 in good shape. Right now 12-15k if you are lucky.
Take a look on Ebay Motors.
