i have a 74, looking at the engine bay from the front of the car, in the left side all the way up against the fir wall, up top( left of the wiper motor) there is some kind of relay switch with a black rubber button and the word start on it. If anyone can understand what i just said could you please tell me what this is for????? thanks

Ah, nothing like a '74. That was the only and only year of the infamous seatbelt starter interlock that was easily defeated by just unplugging under the seat. The component to which you refer allowed you to start the car to tune, etc w/o someone or a sack of groceries sitting in the driver'sseat (with seat belt buckled of course).

hahaha i thought it might be something like that but wasnt sure thanks much, will be getting rid of that tomake things a little cleaner under the hood
