I propose another option.
IMO, go with the alum rad and use a single elec fan.
I was conciderin' the same options, in one of my posts, when it was explained to me that the single fan would cover a greater surface area. I haven't gotten to that point in my mods, but I'm goin' to go with the single fan.

I'm a guy who likes the original stuff unless engine mods are made that call for (in this situation) better cooling. But I have to admit, when beating my "Vette along the highway in Texas on a 100 degree plus day, the temp gauge goes up alittle higher than I like for a small block Chevy. Seems to me that the front of the car doesn't get as much air as it wants. I'd hate to remove the front bottom cowl and rubber edging as that's the only thing thatdirects the air flow to the radiator. I do know that my cooling system is in perfect shape. I've had many many small blocks from 283s to 350s and the first thing I do is install a 160 degree thermostat as anything in the 190s gives you little time to shut down once the cooling system malfunctions (ie: thermostat sticks) and the needle skyrockets. I think you should go with the new finned water tank and electric fan. Whatever cools the best as that makes a happy and therefore healthy engine. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

Def do not remove the bottom cowl, be sure that all of your front air foils are firmly in place.
