Default rear bearings

hello all, I am in the middle of changing rear bearings and I am having trouble getting rotors off. I have drilled out the rivets and I'm sure it is rust build up but if I take the spindle nut off will the spindle and rotor come out as one and be able to have e brake shoes in the open? thanks

Welcome to the forum. You'll need to back off the parking brake adjustor. It's just like a regular drum brake.

You won't be able to pull even w/ the spindle nut off since the whole assy is pressed together. Requires some special tools to do. Not to mention re-assembly is a press fit also. Might want to check rebuilt trailing arms from someone like Vansteel.

If you don't have the tools or experience at this operation, you will need some outside help once you have the spindle supports removed. Once you can get the rotors off, you will need to remove the e-brake assembly and you will see 4 nuts behind the spindle that secure the spindle support, caliper bracket and dust shield to the trailing arms. The spindles have to be pressed out of the supports. The new outer bearing is pressed onto the spindle and the inner bearing is pressed on once the spindle has been inserted into the spindle support. There are very close tolerances in this operation that require tools that the average weekend mechanic does not have.
