Default side yoke questions

hey all! I was wondering if the u-bolt style of side yoke would be strong enough for my engine configuration which is a 350 sb, around 300 hp max, 3:73 gears, and TH-350 tranny. I would think the u-bolt style would be good enough so just let me know all help is appreciated.

You are thinking right, many stock Vettes, with more horses, use them with no prob. I don't know of another design that was, or is used.
After all, the same design isused in drive shafts, and look what they have been put through.

the other design is a cap with a bolt going through each side. i know that is stronger but its more expensive, I mean 300 hp is the max I dont care to have some big time dragster just something fast and nice.

I'll be pumpin' 400 HP when I get my 454 installed, and the stock yokes will be just fine. I too, am not into drag racin'. Justa nice quick cruiser.

Weren't these same yokes used on the L88s? They were very conservatively rated at 430 Hp but must mags at the time said based on 1/4 times, they were more like 500+.
