Default sidepipes

I plan on installing a set of side mount headers and sidepipes on my 79 vette. Are there any stories or reccomendations for what type and brand? I have been leaning torward the Hooker Super Comp Headers and sidepipes. Has anyone heard these and if so how did they sound....Thanx

I have gotten quite abit of information and I believe I'm going with the Hooker Super Comp side mount headers and side pipes. I also found some mufflers called "Turbo Spiral Baffle" that alot of people sound super mean. I really like the looks of these side pipes, I just hope I don't have a ground clearance problem.

For the 79 you will need a cat right? Let us know the total price and show us pics of before/after and during install, that would be great, have fun geting those on your car.

I don't plan on installing a cat. No emissions test here. But I will post pics before and after. Now a technical question, I have seen some chrome sidepipes and they blued and rusted after only a short time from being installed. Would I be better off going with ceramic coated over chrome, and is there any way from keeping the chrome from blueing and rusting. Any advice would be greatly welcomed......thanx

I've got hooker headers and side pipes on my 75. it's a 383 stroker though so it'll sound a little different, but i'll try to get some sounds clips up.

hey 383 I am geting a motor built that will be a 383. Lets see some pics of those side pipes! how much did you spend on it

the engine pic is old but nothing has changed. the car pic was taken 3 days ago. any of you guys have any of those chrome peices that go right under the door for sale? ha. i need some new ones.
