Default RE: The Story & 1st Question

Hi TX, Great to here that you got your first ride in your new Vette, I no you've got to be lovin it. my 74 T-Top does not rev that high, and I'll try to record the #'s of mph at what rpm tomorrow, & let you no what my car does. Part of the fun, and frustration is to try to get it right. I think my car runs at 1800 rpm at 50 mph, but I'll try to take a ride and check for sure. Mine is a daily drive and you may be set up for the track with a differant rear, which will gat you down the track fast but make it impossible to drive on the street. If it dosen't rain tomorrow, I'll go for a ride and record the tach & speed & let you no. I no that you have a smile on face no matter what you found about your car, It's still America's best sports car! It took me over 5 years to get mine right. Talk to you tomorrow, Pete.

Pete,
Sounds great. I was wondering what the gear ratio may be in the rear end. The guy I purchased the vett from stated he used it as a daily driver for awhile so I was a bit surprised to see those rpms.

Does anyone know how you check the gear ratio on the vett. No sign of a 'pumpkin' on the back of these things with the nice little tag that tells ya.
