Stuck hood solution
Stumbled across this in one of my Corvette mags: http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette-1-0-3852.html
Didn't do a search on this forum so may have been here before.

RE: Stuck hood solution
Your welcome. It's one of those things that after you see it you wonder why you didn't think of it. I've toyed with how to do this ever since I got mine cuz I could see the problem. Even put a second crossover cable on as a backup.

RE: Stuck hood solution
I've had trouble with my hood ever since I took the left male side off to clean it.
Put it back on, closed the hood and the hood stayed closed.
After much shaking it opened up, readjusted the part, closed the hood and again it stayed closed.
More shaking and it opened again.
Took the part off and put it away.
So now I have to pull up the left side of the hood and reach under and pull the cross cable then the right side pops up.
I'm tempted to pull the right side off and get hood pins.
Or, just remove both pin, doesn't seem like the hood would ever pop up!
What do you think? PG.

Thanks for sharing! Every time I pop the hood I think of what could go wrong. And you are right you can never lube a 36 year old too much.

Now back to the problem. I spent a half day adjusting a friend's '66 hood and never got it to where it wouldn't pop the right side open when you hit a bump. He and another guy worked on it for a couple of hours and viola, got it right. Moral: keep after it and you'll get it.
