Default VIN/Buildsheet

Has anyone had luck with the on-line VIN decoders for our old Vettes? I was able to get a list of the factory options on my newer vehicles with 17 digit VIN's but the 13 digit won't work. I know how to read the VIN as far as the basic "Chevrolet, Corvette, coupe,St.Luis, L48,etc., but I'm looking for the factory RPO's for my car. One site, "GreatOldCars.com" claims to be able to gather that info, any experience with them?

Thanks for the sites Pg, huge amount of info from them. I'm trying to get a build list for mine but it may not be possible from the 13 digit VIN.

I never ordered a build sheet but from what is rumored they ask you what options you have and make a sheet to match.
Seems like they do NO research so the fee for that, to me, is not worth it.

According to Bowling Green there are no records before the C4's. There may be a copy of the build sheet on top of the gas tank? So I would think that any of those websites that take your money to give you something that ISN'T are ripping you off!

My original tank sheet was not legible, from what I can tell this car has spent it's whole life in southeast Michigan, pretty tough on paper after enduring thirty plus years. I'm suspicious of anyone being able to give me more info than I already have but for $10 I'm going to let them run it. Thanks for the input.

There's no info on St. Louis built cars.

It was what I thought, just the same info we already have.
