Default VIN # Question 1975 Stingray.

Hi Everyone,

Newbie here looking for info on re-titling a 1975 Stingray. I need to find the VIN # on it but don't know where to look. It's not on the dash or the door frame.

Can someone tell me where to look for it on this model?

Thanks,
albert

Partway up the left hand A pillar. On the top of the frame just forward of the right rear shock mount. Takes a mirror and flashlight and maybe a trick or two(sanding, chalk, etc.) to make it legible. Good Luck!

Thanks Ron, found it. Now hopefully I can get it re-titled without a problem and go from there.

You have a Stingray and NO title? I'll bet that's an interesting story.

Not really (I don't think). I picked it up from a guy that purchased it because he thought it would be a good car to drag out. He purchased it without a title and I'm not sure where or from who he picked it up. When he started talking to his drag buddies about it they all told him it was a stupid idea and that he needed to buy a 69 Camaro for that project. A week later he purchased the Camaro and he needed to get rid of the Vette to make room in his garage. I couldn't pass it up. He really didn't care about it because he already had a 76 Vette that he had restored.

I'm hoping it all works out in the long run, because otherwise my only option would be to sell it off as parts I guess.
