Default water leak

I have a 1975 corvette that leaks water from the bottom air vents on both driver and passengers sides. This is obviously coming from the rain as it runs off the windshield into windshield wiper tray area and then runs down the “drain” at each side. How can I cure this, is there a drain hole that i can't see? Will the water eventualy rust anything or is it all fibre glass I am not able to garage the car in the summer so it is out in the weather

i'm not real familiar with the '75 model but perhaps the drains are clogged up. if you can trace the leak back to the firewall coweling you may be able to see where it's comming from. sorry I'm of no real help here but here's wishing you luck. and I'm not sure but your floor pans my be sheet metal. pull back your carpet from the toe boards and have a look, maybe that will help direct you to the leaks origin. perhaps there is a telltail stain from the water. good luck with it anyway. cheers

I had a similar problem with my 69 Camaro. Best way to find the leak is open your hood a night and put a drop light on the the floor of your Vet and look at your firewall from the outside.
Mine was a hole in the firewall where a rubber grommet fell out. Another way is have someone pour some water around your Vet's windsield while you are looking with a flashlight from the inside out.

GOOD lUCK.

My '73 had a similar leak and finally found it to be where the outside vent air tube goes thru the body. Took off the kick panel and put some RTV sealer around the penetration. Stopped the leak.

Water leaks are tough and each case is different. If you have water in behind the kickpads and its been there awhile you have trouble. That is where the #2 body mount is located. You need to check this out SOONER rather than later. What I have found most of the time is the water is coming in at the top of the windshield where the trim is.At the top of the windshield is a ledge, the water lays there and rusts through with time hidden behind the trim. The water runs in to a channel that runs directly to the kick pad area.Check the screws to the right and left of your rear view mirror that hold on the inside trim--if they have rust on them or water dripping from them then your windshield frame has holes in it.If this is the case you have to remove the trim around the windshield to view the damage. It ranges from minor to very major.
