What parts do I need to actually bolt the compressor onto the car? I call it a compressor mounting bracket, but I think I'm using the wrong term. I have a chevy 350 with edelbrock everything. I know the bolt holes are on the passenger side of the car and I have V belts.

If ya have power steering, ya need a 3 groove pully on the crank, and a 2 groove pully on the water pump. Ya need the compressor, for AC I figure. then ya got ta get the brackets. Now don't quote me on this, but ya just might be able to find a corresponding compressor and brackets at the local wrecking yard. I forgot now, what year is your Vette? Anyway, a compressor from the same year GM car or truck should do the trick. A lot of wreckers will let ya trade parts back and forth 'till ya find one that fits.

Brain cells? Yup, that's where my brain belongs, in a cell! [sm=happy046.gif]

I have everything, but the bracket currently. I got the new compressor and v belt today. I have a 76 vette. All the wrecking yards out here only carry 90s on up cars. The others are just shredded(I went and looked anyways). Yeah, i've got power steering. The car had an A/C system, but when the engine was rebuilt and the bracket was not put back on. So the whole a/c system is intact minus the compressor bracket. Do you happen to have a link to the part that mounts the compressor to the engine? It's an expensive part and I don't want to order the wrong one. I did some searching on my own and can't figure it out.

As I mentioned before, ya might try www.pacvette.com . Just tell 'em what ya have and what ya need. There's a good chance they can hook ya up with that bracket. Get their land line number off their web site and give 'em a call, it's an 800 number, so ya won't need a nickle.

I had a broken steering column, and they fixed me right up.

Not sure any small block A/C mounting bracket will work due to the low hood line. I know some trucks have the compressor up fairly high, some cars also. I know there's at least one Corvette salvage yard, just can't remember its name. Killed too many brain cells in college.

Here's a place I just noticed on another thread: http://www.corvettepartsman.com/inde...p;Category=395

I didn't say it was cheap but at least they're the right parts.
