Default Wheels

Has anyone ever installed 10" wide rear wheels? If so were any mods necessary? I am thinking of a set of Billet Specialties Street-Lites 15X8 for the front and 15X10 for the rear. I amwondering ifI can get the 15X10's with 4.5 back spacing to fit. I know the stock backspacing is 4.00" and was interested if anyone has done this.

Hey, we're interested in nearly the same thing.
I was looking to get 17x8 ralleys for the front and 17x10 for the rear.
For the rear I was looking at maybe 4.5 or 5" backspacing if needed/possible?

I have 15 X 10 on all 4 corners with 255/60/15's in the rear, front tires are 235/70/15 and they fit fine, PG.

PG, What back spacing do you have on your 15X10's? Do you run the same offset in front and rear? Thanks for the info.

With 4" backspacing and 255-60 on mine, I have about 3/8" clearance on the rear tire to the parking brake cable bracket on the trailing arm. No problem on the fronts.

Hi blknblu68, I measured them when I changed the tires, the rims are "Western Wheels" circa 1976.
I agree your friends look wider but he my have a different off set and back spacing since he has flares. I never checked the back spacing on mine since they were already on the car. PG.

blknblu68: Those are very nice flares on your friend's car. Look very much like the factory flares that the factory put inside the cars w/ a L-88 engine.

I like the green one. I'm trying to go with wide wheels that will stick out maybe 2 inches from the fender. I think with maybe a shorter offset I could achieve this.
