Default Paint new gas tank?

Just purchased a new gas tank from Zip. Should I paint this tank with, say, Eastwood tank tone to preserve it? Or, just leave it alone so I won't screw up some form of correctness?

I'd just put in in and worry about 30 yrs. later. Paint and gas dont mix if it should spill on it.

Welcome to the Corvette Forum. Rich G. has the right idea. A new tank shouldn't need any paint and should last a long time.

Thanks. Just trying to do right by the car and the next owner. Hopefully, it will still be around in 30 years. Now, if I could just replace my gas tank.
