Default " the wave"

what's up with the wave thing? I can barely see the other driver coming at me. I own a harley chopper. I can see a fellow harley rider a mile away as well as hearing him (or her) coming. It's just a quick hand down wave or fist. Most of them acknowlege you existance. My friend who also owns a vette told me I have to wave. Well so far I'm the only waver. Seems kinda dumb to me...opinions?

c5 and c6 owners never wave at a c4 and I don't remember earlier ones responding either.

Actually a few C5s have waved to me. No C4s NO C6s wave period....and nope on the earlier models they just act like they are rich snobs![&:]

I think the wave is totally dumb. I've driven Vetts since 1961 and I have ridden a Harley for over 15 yrs, after giving the sign for so many years, I have gotten really tired of this. When I drive my truck nobody acknowledges you in the same model truck. And I like it that way.

Went down to a local store this afternoon to get some garden stuff. Met a C4 coming the other way,,,driven by something *blonde*.[sm=happy046.gif]

Waved, and got an enthusiastic wave back.

I live in a town of 50,000 folks. Not a lot of vettes here....but some! Rare enuf that if you see them it's fairly easy to recognize them. I've gotten waves from most every driver I've seen, regardless of generation.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the size of the city you live in?

Default I've done pretty well with the wave over the years

Not all wave, but the majority do around here in CT. I do the wave, or thumbs up. Not like its costing me anything. Thumbs up, a smile, who's it gonna hurt. At age 65, how many more waves can one get in. If I get one back, thats one more than I might of gotten. Car shows, I find most vette owners are magpies if you ask them about their car. And like a fella above, they give the fist up or down when on the bike.
to me, if your eyes spring open in the morning, the rest is all gravey.

Drive it like ya stole it...

How long have you been driving your Vett? 2 yrs max I'll bet. In 40 years if you still drive a Vette let me know how old the wave is getting to you. I go to shows and on Vett runs, I also talk to other Vette drivers. But I dont wave.
