mech359---would you know if a '85 MAF works on an '86? looks like everything i've seen goes from 86-87
Bosch Part numbers did not change for all 305/350 TPI Engines.

fortunately, a friend of a friend has an '86 MAF available.

fwiw---when i was checking around, it seemed that all 86-87 305/350 TPIs used the same MAF part #--regardless of manufacturer. Numbers were different for '85 & 88-89. don't know what the differences are, but apparently something is different to change part #s.

I just changed my MAF sensor on my '85 corvette. It threw out code 33 also. You can get a Bosch MAF sensor at Discount auto for $168 including tax. After installation, disconnect (+ve) cable from battery, and turn igition switch to start for 5 seconds. That should clear all codes in the computer. Reconnect battery and go on your merry way...cheers Mario.

You have to be careful with rebuilt sensors. Put a ton of em on in past years and about half of them didn't work right. It's probably a A-1 Cardone rebuilt. [8D]

If I could watch your hertz readings or had a lab scope on it I could help, but alas, my arms don't reach that far. LOL

The MAF that Discount Auto sells is crap. It isn't a Genuine Bosch MAF and it's rebuilt to boot. You're better off with a Genuine Bosch, new or used. New are $749, used are less.

New Delco's are around $400.00. Put one on my 86 a few months back.[8D]

I wonder what makes these things so hard to rebuild? Seems like a number of people have problems with them.

All2kool,
I only paid for the BOSCH MAF sensor once, and that was 2 years ago. It went bad a week ago as I explained earlier, and is guaranteed for lifetime at Discount Auto. I simply took the receipt and got a another one. If it fails again in the 2 or more years from now, I just go and get another one. Didn't have to spend $700. Ha ha
