Default 1995 LT1 dying!

Hey guys, things started goin right with my 95' until the other day i was driving down the road under normal acceleration and busted a coolant hose, then the car suddenly started sputtering and wouldn't let me accelerate at all, then it finally died. So coasted to the nearest gas station, replaced the coolant hose, and filled it back up with coolant. The car started back up fine went to start driving it back home and got to a stop sign and it suddenly died. So of course i tried to start it back up but no go, it would not start(turn over fine just no start) Let it sit there for just a little bit went and got some fuel to put in it in case it was low(fuel gas doesn't work) Got back to the car put fuel in it and it started right up idled for a about 5 minutes and died. It would start for a second and until it died sputtered and backfired consistently. Towed it home waited till the next day and went out to start it and it fired right up idled for 20 minutes without any problems. No leaks everything seemed to be fine, went to drive it and got about 10 miles down the road and it started sputtering and wouldn't hardly accelerate started backfiring pulled into a parking lot and it died. Waited just a minute and it started right up, held the rpm's approx. 1500 and it started sputtering again after a few minutes and finally just gave out and died.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

THANX MATT

Hey matt,
I had the same thing happen on my 95 just a few weeks ago, i was driving to dinner with some other vette owners and i busted a hose. I was a little bit luckier than you because i have not had the problems you are having now. I think what may have happened is maybe your distributor got wet. I know the lt1's uses something called an optispark, not to sure much about it but im sure these other guys do. Im no expert, but i think the moisture probably damaged it some how. I hope someone else can help you more than i can.

Hi Matt By the sound of the start of your post it sounds like a opti-spark problem you will have to pull the codes to see what you have. Also you should do a fuel press check on the fuel system to see what you have there. Opti is my best guess but could be fuel pump or fuel filter. Have to cheek your codes and go from there.

The opti got coolant soaked. If your lucky which you will have to be real lucky, once it dries out it will start and run fine - for a while. The problem lies in that the coolant will literally eat the grease in the bearings. More than likely it will start and run finethen afew thousand (or sooner) miles it will crap out on you.
