well i was working on getting my car started after having a code 42 and replacing the hei modual and noticed a small problem im not getting fuel from the injectors. i have a new fuel pump and filter and the pump sends fuel when the key is turned on but the injectors wont fire any fuel into the TBs the car (before it broke down) would spit and sputter and die randomly and often smelled like it was flooding i found that someone had put the plug wires on wrong which helped alot but now the car wont start at all any suggestions on what my problem could be?

 

Do you have spark? Unplug one of your injectors and see if you have power on one side with key on. If you have no spark, then you might have a bad pick up coil in the distributor. You can use a 12v test light clipped to the positive post on your battery and touch the negative wire on your coil, spin the engine over and see if it pulses, that will be one indicator to see if ignition system is good. Also, you can get a noid light at a local auto parts to plug into your injector harness to see if it is pulsing while cranking. [8D]
