I have had my 84 crossfire for six months and just found out it had a security system. It decided to let me know on Friday night while I was filling up with gas. The door key lock would not shut it off and neither would the ignition. I had to disconnect the battery to shut it off. Does anyone know what I need to get it to shut off normally? Thanks guys,

 

I would expect it to turn off from either the door key, or ignition key. It soulds like there is a fault, as it should have turned off from either key.

 

Well, the security system consists of door plungers and key switches. Possibly have a key switch that is bad. The key switch attaches to the tumbler mechanism and rotates with the key. Have you tried both doors?

 

Yep, neither door works. As long as I leave the fuse out it doesnt arm but that fuse also controls my electric door locks.
