I bought an 84 vette, and it has a carburetor, 4 barrel. My problem is it is hard to start. Once it's started,it will start right up anyother time during the day. I've heard , to replace the fuel pump to a upgrade. Help

 

Could simply be that the choke is not working correctly. If it run okay once started, hard to believe the fuel pump is messed up.

 

Do you know what carb is on it? Is it a quadrajet? Quads have a nasty habit after a while of well plugs leaking gas from the bowl and emptying the carb of fuel and causes extended crank times until fuel bowl is full.

 

what kind of carb??? what size carb??? and is the choke working right??? sounds like its a choke problem, is it prone to d it on really cold days??? need more info to solve the problem
