Default 85" Cold Start Valve

I am a new member in this forum and a 1st time vette owner. I am very happy to find this forum and to be able to share valuable info

to and from members. My first question about the cold start valve is how can you check to see if it is working? The second ? is where

can i find a new one ? It seems to be a discontinued item. Not good news. [X(]

You mean the cold start 'injector'?

What's goin' on that you think you might need one? How does it idle when started, and warmed up?

Congrats on your new baby!

First thing I would do is change ALL of the fluids and complete tune-up(wires, plugs etc...). Change all filters. Fuel filter is VERY important! But I say that a lot

Really recommend the K&N air filter for life

Glad to have you here!

Any black exhaust when it fires?

Does it idle well, AFTER drivin' 10 minutes?

No black exhaust.
Okay, no black exhaust at idle = non rich condition. And MIGHT mean non-functioning cold start injector. In the middle of summer, I'm inclined however to NOT believe such is the case.

Check your fuel pressure. You said post 3 that you think it's fuel pressure. If you're convinced of this, then do the fuel pressure check, as per the article. If you're sure of this, there's NO REASON to do anything else other than that right now.

Do you hear the fuel pump prime the fuel rails, just before you pull the trigger on the motor?

Runs good.
If it runs [IDLES] good after a short drive, completely steady, A/C off, this is very good. Means no vacuum leaks. And means you can check off 'air', from air, gasoline, fire checklist.

Check the fuel pressure.
