Default 85 black vette with gunmetal ZR1 rims?

I am looking for either gunmetal rims or black chrome ZR1 rims. The only problem is they are for 88 and up vettes. How hard is it to fit these rims to my 85 vette with spacers? Or do they even need spacers? Will they stick out farther or be to close and rub? Where do you buy these spacers?

I just put a set of the black ones on my black '94. Looks great, but now I need new rubber for the wider rim out back. And two more, to match up front, of course.

I think I did see some of that design, that didn't necessitate spacers ('84 - '87).........

IMO, black rims looks good on a black car but thats about it. Id go gunmetal unless you have a black car and are going to black out the lights, windows, and rims. That would be sooooooo nice.

My 85 vette is black, and I'm looking for some black rims. My 84 has torque thrust II rims and they look great. But chrome or polished rims on a black vette look good, but I want some kind of black color.

Is the gunmetal closer to black or grey? They are on ebay for $799 for ZR1 rims and tires.

Will black rims look tacky in a few years?

I chose black for several reasons...

1) No 'flash'. I'm not lookin' for any extra attention, like you get with chrome/aluminum/etc.
2) '96 Grand Sport rims (same style as black zr1's) are the best looking of any vette. (And they don't even clash with the '96 admiral blue GS paint).
3) They matchthe back exterior and interior. (Now I have REAL triple black). And speakin' of 3x black, how come there's no double black? Or quadruple black?[sm=smiley25.gif]

4)And no one else has 'em!

Never mind that ugly rubber - the new stuff will be here tuesday...
