'85 Heat and Defroster - Heater Core Inop?
Hi everyone,
I think I have a bad heater core in my '85, but I want to be totally sure of that before I invest so much time / money.
My problem is that the air neither blows out hot or cold.......always just ambient. Being that it's winter, getting some hot air into the cabin is my biggest concern. The coolant system is running correctly, and I already checked the hoses going into and out of the heater core area. Both are hot as hell. Also, the valve for the hot / cold selection seems to be working correctly.
This makes me think I need a new heater core and recharged refrigerant, but the rear defroster doesn't work either, so could it possibly be electrical? Any suggestions? Thanks.
