87 headlights stay up

87 headlights stay up
I restore c3s on a regular basis, so excuse me for coming to the c4 forum. A friend brought his 87 to my shop because the head lights will not go down. He took it to a shop and was told it has a broken wire somewhere. Apparently he was told it can be jumpered somewhere and they will go down. Has anybody got any ideas before I start my search ?

RE: 87 headlights stay up
1st, unplug wiring connectors to headlight motors, then turn the manual **** to see if they will retract manually. There is a right and left door relay. Each have fusible links on the load side for the motors and the headlight switch controls the relays. The relays have reversible grounds and power circuits to control the up and down movement. The fusible links probably come off a junction connector behind the battery. I would check there first and then listen to see if you hear anything when turning lights on and also check for power at connectors. If all is good there you might have some bad motors.
