My recently acquired 96 LT4 shifts fine from 1-2, when rpms are low to moderate.

At high rpms, when a quick shift is called for the shift to 2nd catches, and makes a slight grinding noise.

I've heard there is a restrictor in the hydraulic clutch feed line that can be drilled out to assist in this issue.

Appreciate any advice from you C-4 LT4 experts.

The grinding you are hearing is due to a worn synchronizer ring in the transmission, especially if it grinds on a quick shift. Not much you can do for it other than disassembly and overhaul time.
