I changed the oil in my wifes 96 C4 today and now it will not start. You should have seen the look on her face when I told her that her car no longer runs after I changed the oil.
this car only has 41k miles.
The car will start sometimes but idles very rough and when I try to give a little gas it dies.
I tried another key,checked fuses, still nothing.

Any suggestions?

 

Need to check and make sure you didn't accidentally unplug or knock loose any sensors, like Mass Air Flow, Throttle Posisition sensor, etc.

 

Today the car starts up and runs normal. I took it for a drive and no problems.
I suspect the problem is still there, just in remission for now.
I checked for loose connections and found none.
Any idea what to check next?

Well without a scan tool to check for codes on your OBDII car, it will be hard to know.
