for 3 yrs ahve had problems with abs. sets off under hard brking on track conditionds with abs &asr lite coming on and staying on till restart. dtc is 33 & 37 but everything checks with shop manual. Has recently startred going off when backing up 8-10 mph or forward when speed reduces to 10 mph. Otherwise acts normal till hard braking above 60 which sets it off again. have removed codes on numerous occasions and will retun but am at a loss as to what to condem as everything falls within spec. HELP SOMEONE!!

I'm assuming, since I don't have any info in front of me, that those codes are for wheel speed sensors. How have you checked them? The reason ABS pump goes off is because it is not seeing an input from the sensor. You can check the output with an a/c voltmeter. Ohm checking is not reliable, since the car is sitting still. Unplug the sensor and put your a/c voltmeter across the terminals and manually spin the wheel and see if you have a/c voltage around , I think, .5v to .7v.

 

I am having the same exact problem and pretty sure its one of the wheel sensors- where is the best place to get a new wheel sensor and how much do they cost because this problem drives me crazy I hate having those lights come on!

 

The best place is the dealer. Maybe aftermarket, but not sure. Being you have a 92, you might try NAPA or Carquest.
