I just removed my harmonic balancerfrom my 93 LT1 it was a breeze once I got the right bolts for my puller.
I am glad I did not take the caveman approach suggested by some on this site bybeating a 2x4 on theback of the balancerfrom under the car
I actually found a tip in Haynes...I know it is not the best bookbut it gets me by.
Remove the three bolts holding the balancer on to the hub. Then remove the center bolt in the hub.
Use amodified balancer puller with 3 - 3" 5/16" grade 8 bolts with nuts and and 1 - 3.5" 5/16" grade 8 bolt. I placed the 3.5" 5/16" bolt in the center hole, it should rest just belowflush with thehub. I then inserted the three bolts through the three fingers of the hub attaching the puller to the hub by bolting through the fingers and attaching nuts. You can now back out the hub with the puller, be carefull don't go too fast or the puller center bolt with slip off head of the bolt in the center of the hub. I used a long screw driver to keep the puller head from rotating off the bolt head when tightened.

I watched Fred Flintstone ruin a harmonic balancer with a block of wood, he dislodged the outer ring and spun it out off time. My dad worked at a dealer for 15 yrs.,and never saw it done unless they where going to throw it out. Out of the 20yrs. of working on cars and industrial machines using the right tools pays itself off.
