Hi, Im a new member, but, I have had the battery drain issue. What I did was to put a switch that shuts off the entire dash, Yes, crazy but it did work. Also, the altenator was not hooked up correctly, either it was sold as a replacement but it was not correct part. After obtaining the correct altenator and having it properly installed with a brand new wire harness it now has NO issues and Im not on the trickle charger every nite. Good Luck, and find a good mech. [sm=smiley4.gif]
If a mechanic talked you into putting a by-pass toggle switch on, to solve an electrical problem, I think you should NOT go back to that mechanic.

On a 1873 Conestoga horse-drawn wagon, maybe. Not on a vette.

Good advice.

LMAO ....Conestoga horse drawn wagon....that's funny! Sounds like the Menninites down here with a CD player in the surry. That's funny!

Hey, it's not that unusual to buy "bad" new parts, there's no telling how long that battery sat on the shelf before you bought it. Anyway, good luck with your new one.
