blower for heat and air only works on high, maybe low. This is my 85. Trying to fix some small things before it goes on the market.any ideas for a easy fix.

Well, I haven't looked at the '85 Vette, but if this is typical GM, then it is the Lo-Hi switch in the control panel. It is a resistor type device that sometimes burns out. Each position varies the voltage to the fan. The HI position works, because it cuts the voltage straight through to the fan.

Try going to a junkyard or contact a used parts dealer. The multi-position switch is part of the Heat/Air Cond assembly which is costly, but you can replace just the Lo-Hi switch by taking it apart. I did this on my Van and it wasn't too hard. It cost me about $5 (it will probably cost more on the Vette). You may even be able to substitute the one on your '85 with one from another GM model.

Your blower resistor is bad. On high, there is a direct connection to voltage, blower resistor controls voltage to motor. It is in the evaporator case under the hood. [8D]

The evaporator case is just to the inside of your blower motor. The large hose from your a/c accumulator (drier) comes in from the top. On the top side or the engine side you will see a 4 or 5 wire connector that plugs into a flat plate with 2 screws that hold it to the case. That is the blower resistor. [8D]
